U.S. Orders - Section 338 Tariff

Important Update for Our Valued U.S. Customers - a Summary...

A new U.S. Section 338 tariff affecting our Canadian-made scale-model kits has taken effect as of August 22, 2026

Regretfully, ITLA must charge U.S. customers the Section 338 Tariff . This new U.S. Section 338 tariff affects our Canadian-made scale-model kits.  The additional U.S. import tariff is currently set at 50% of the purchased product price.

Please note…this is a U.S. government import duty charged to the customer.

The tariff amount collected is not retained by ITLA, but remitted to the U.S. government.

Please note that we remain committed to serving our valued U.S. customers and will communicate any further changes as we understand them.

Thank you for your patience, friendship, and continued support.

Sincerely,

Renée & Nick Masney

The Detail ... In the Spirit of Transparency ...

President Donald Trump signed three proclamations on July 20, 2026, invoking Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 to impose a 50% additional tariff on targeted Canadian goods, effective August 22, 2026. These tariffs override normal USMCA/CUSMA rules, applying to specified products including Canadian-made scale-model kits.

This new U.S. Section 338 tariff affects our Canadian-made scale-model kits.  The additional U.S. import tariff is currently set at 50% of the purchased product price.

Unlike previous U.S. tariffs, this Section 338 tariff overrides the current duty-free protection of our Canadian-made products under the USMCA/CUSMA trade agreement.

Please note…this is a U.S. government import duty, not an ITLA price increase, and the tariff amount is not retained by ITLA.

Please note that we remain committed to serving our valued U.S. customers and will communicate the final arrangements upon reopening U.S. ordering.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Sincerely,
