New U.S. Tariffs & Impact on Cross-Border Shipping

As you know we are a small, family-owned and proud Canadian manufacturer.

We greatly appreciate your business, regardless of geopolitical challenges.

We want to keep you informed about the significant new trade measures that will impact your cross-border shipments.

On February 1, 2025, the Trump administration issued an executive order imposing a 25% tariff on goods imported from Canada and Mexico, effective February 4, 2025.

Please know that this is not within our control, and we want to be open and transparent in communication.

Key Updates & What We Know So Far ...

  • 25% Tariff Implementation: Most Canadian imports will now be subject to a 25% tariff ... including the scale model kits we produce. You will now be responsible for paying this import tax as required by your government.

  • All shipments which were in transit by Feb 1st. are also subject to this tariff.
  • Termination of Section 321 Exemptions for Tariffed Products: Based on the U.S. President's executive order, it appears that certain tariffed products will no longer qualify for duty-free entry under the Section 321 de minimis exemption ... which is how our shipments from Canada to the U.S. are currently processed.

  • We will update this page as we learn more regarding this trade action and the particular details.

Sincerely,

Renée & Nick Masney
